SCENE I

(In Tunghai University)

Narrator:  Baron just graduated from Lin-Ko Senior High School. He’s now a freshman at Tunghai University. He’s a very naïve person. He has never seen so many fashionable girls before. And now let’s take a look at his college life.

Baron:       Excuse me. Where’s the classroom T305?

Flora:        It’s over there, the third classroom.

Baron:       Thanks.

(Baron enters T305. He sees Grace.)

Baron:       Hello, I’m Baron. I’m glad to see you. Wow, is it your book bag? How fashionable it is!

Grace:       Hi, I’m Grace. And this is Flora. You can consider it a book bag, but it’s not a normal book bag. It’s Louis Vuitton.

Baron:       Louis Vuitton? What’s that? I have never heard of this brand before!

Flora:        It’s made in Italy. By the way, the price of my bag is 40,000 NT dollars.

Grace:       And my bag is worth 60,000 NT dollars.

Alice:        Look at that lousy boy. His clothes are out of fashion and he doesn’t look like a common college student. Look at my bag and my clothes! They’re all famous and high-class brands.

Baron:       Oh! How can I be like you?

SCENE II

Baron:             Could I ask how you can afford these expensive and high-quality goods?

Grace:             Oh, we bought them with George & Mary Cash Cards.

Baron:             George & Mary Cash Cards? What is it?

Flora:              The card will allow you to get as much money as you want.

Baron:             It sounds great! It’ll make my dream come true! But how can I get one?

(Grace and Flora exit and a bank clerk appears. The music of “George & Mary Cash Card” is played.)

Bank clerk A: Hello, sir. May I help you? I can solve all your financial problems.

Baron:             Really? How can I get a George & Mary Cash card?

Bank clerk A: Just fill out this application form, then you’ll get a cash card.

(Baron fills out the application form, and then the bank clerk gives Baron a cash card.)

SCENE III

Baron:             I got a new cash card, so now I’m rich. Hey! Hey! Baby! Let’s go and take out some money.

(He uses the card and gets some money in front of an ATM.  At a Louis Vuitton Store in a shopping mall.)

Seller A:          Excuse me, sir! May I help you? We have some high-quality bags.

Baron:             Yes.

Seller A:          A new fashionable Louis Vuitton bag! I think you’ll like it.

Baron:             It looks nice. I’ll take it.

Seller B:         The shoes look real good on you.

Baron:             I’ll take them. Keep the change.

(“Seller A” and” Seller B” exit and the bank clerk enters.)

Bank clerk A: Sir, this is your bill for this month. You have to pay ten million dollars in seven days.

Baron:             But….But….I have no money and I have no idea how to pay.

Bank clerk A: We don’t care about your problems. All you have to do is just pay the exact amount to our bank in seven days.

SCENE IV

Narrator:        Now, Baron feels so worried because he owes the bank a lot of money.

Baron:             Wow! Who can help me? What am I going to do?

(Baron is thinking.)

Baron:             Ha! Ha! Maybe I can rob…

(In the bank.)

Narrator:        Baron puts on a mask, and carries a gun. He walks up to a bank. A bank clerk is counting money.

Bank clerk B: May I help you?

Baron:             Don’t move and give me the money. If you don’t give it to me, I’ll kill you. Hurry up!

(Baron shouts violently and takes out the gun. All the people in the bank scream.)

Bank clerk B: O.K.! O.K! Don’t be angry! Please don’t kill me. I will give the money to you.

(She is shaking)

Bank clerk B: Yeah! Here’s is your money.

(Then, she sets off an alarm. Suddenly, a policewoman shows up.)

Policewoman: Hey, what are you doing? Don’t move! Raise your hands and turn around. You’re under arrest. Put down your gun! And put down the money! 

(The policewoman speaks loudly.)

(Baron is arrested because of his robbery. He is in a jail.)

Narrator:        This play teaches us a lesson. Sometimes, cash cards could be useful. But there’s no free lunch in the world. When you borrow money from the bank with cash cards, you still have to pay it back. Don’t borrow more than you can afford, or it’ll become a nightmare.
