1856: George Bernard Shaw was born on July 26th in Dublin, a noted socialist who took a leading role in the Fabian Society. He was not only an excellent drama critic, but also a great dramatist with whom people are quite familiar. He produced a series of  dramas, including Arms and the Man（1898）, Pygmalion（1916 ）, Saint Joan（1924）, and The Apple Cart（1929）. Shaw was also the only person ever to have won both a Nobel Prize (Literature in 1925) and an Academy Award (Best Screenplay for Pygmalion in 1938).
